A purpose driven church . . .
What is the Purpose?
What do we do - and why do we do it?
NewSong is a 'Purpose Driven' Church which means that we exist as a church to fulfil the five purposes that God has for the church. These can be found in two passages in the New Testament which we call The Great Commandment and The Great Commission.
"The Great Commandment"
"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind'. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments". (Matthew 22:37 - 40).
"The Great Commission"
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20).
