The NewSong Family
What do we mean by "Family" ?
This is a question people often ask. A church is more than a building; it's a family. But, by 'family' we don't just mean Mom, Dad and 2.4 children, we mean everybody! The young, the more mature, the single, the married, the not married any more, the fit and healthy, those with bits of their bodies not working well, the Sunday morning people and even those who don't yet join up with us at all, in fact - everybody!
When you're hurting, when you're in need, when you're discouraged, where do you go? You go to your family for help and encouragement. And when you're well, when you have plenty and when you're feeling on top of the world, where do you go? You go to your family to encourage them and celebrate your good life. Just the same principles apply in our relationships within our community and with God. We can go to the group of people we feel comfortable with and confident about, we can go to the church family, the NewSong Family.
The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part is dependent on every other part. The parts we mention and the parts we don't, the parts we see and the parts we don't. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance.(1 Corinthians 12:25-26) And as we do all these things, we are blessed, others are blessed, and the will of God is accomplished in Sidemoor, in Bromsgrove, in north Worcestershire and to the ends of the earth!
